For a third day running the rain has put a serious damper on todays work. As a result, kept it pretty low key.
Advertisements have started to appear on Craigslist sites around the world for unwanted Consumer’s™. I’m taking the guise of a fed up mother trying to offload her husband and kids—wonder how long it will be allowed to stay up for.. Early indicators from that one are looking promising.
USE-MORE.COM stickers have also started to appear in convenient locations around retail hotspots (shopping malls, etc.). No photos sorry for obvious reasons.
Finally—and this is the good bit—I moved the parking ticket game into underground car parks (not as believable I know) to avoid the rain. Result: A large man threw a parking ticket at me. I took the hint and called it a day. Might also wrap up that campaign, have to keep things fresh. Hopefully tomorrow will be rain free.
Till then,
Dan
Hey Dan,
I like your blog. I’ll follow your blog. I’ll even add you blog to my blogroll but would you mind doing me a favor? My blog is already called MADISON AVENUE. I’m one of Advertising Age Magazine’s Power 150 Marketing Blogs. I’m also a member of Forbes Magazine’s Business & Finance Blog Network so I’m picked up by a lot of news aggregators. Could you please do me a favor and change the name of your blog to avoid confusion? Thanks.
Hi Martin,
Congratulations on the apparent industry success of your blog. I’ve thought hard about your request. I considered ignoring it, or giving a long ideological description about why I would refuse to do so. Neither solution helps anybody.
I will make a compromise and change the name of my blog, if you agree to publish a serious post which examines ethics in advertising and the social and ecological impact your industry has. You don’t have to refer to the outcome of this blog (http://www.use-more.com). I’m not asking you to agree or endorse the message. I am asking for an impartial and serious alternate discussion that implores those in your field to look introspectively at the real impact their industry has.
If you do all those things, then yes, I’ll change the name of this blog.
Thanks.
